Communications Plan
📻 Editing the matrix does not reprogram radios. Channels come from the
CPS master codeplugs in R2 — a change here needs both masters (DM-32UV + D878)
rebuilt and re-uploaded before operators reflash from the CODEPLUG tab.
📇 Printable Comms Card
Pocket card of the plan above — channel number first, so you can switch
without pulling the radio out. 4.7″ × 2.8″ at 300 DPI,
sized and tagged for Cricut Print Then Cut.

⚙ Master Codeplug RTO / COMMAND
The master is what every operator flashes from. Rebuilding writes the
published comms matrix into it — channels, talkgroups,
zone, RX groups and encryption. Open the result in CPS
and confirm it before uploading.
REPLACE THE MASTER IN R2
Stored under the name R2 serves for the platform selected above,
whatever the file is called on your disk — downloads often rewrite the name.
Takes effect immediately for every operator. Uploads are rejected unless the
file carries exactly one ATLAS-XX stamp.
Flash Procedure
Open the downloaded codeplug in your CPS software
Verify Radio ID and name match your designator
Connect radio — battery above 3 bars
Write codeplug to radio
Read-back verify contacts & channels
Check the shield on an ENCRYPTED channel before you rely on it The master carries the key per channel. If the shield is dark: Menu → Setting → Channel Set → Digital Encrypt → select key
Shield lit on the keyed channels, dark on EMERGENCY, APRS, EVENT and the BAT block Those are in the clear by design — see the COMMS tab for which is which
For dues & payment notices only. Pre-filled from your personnel record — change it here to redirect notices. Stored privately, never shown on the site.
Zone = the CPS zone name. Keep squad numbers in ASSIGNED TO, never in the channel
name — reassigning a squad is then a data edit, not an all-hands reflash.

WHO CAN SEE THIS CHANNEL
COMMAND + RTO also hides the channel from the public site and the strap portal.
Enforced server-side — gated nets never leave the server for an operator who
may not see them.
